Please help us welcome Sherine Elamad to our staff as the Volunteer Coordinator. Sherine is excited to be a part of Ombudsman Services of San Mateo County’s team and is committed to increasing OSSMC’s volunteer capacity to provide the advocacy needed for residents living in long-term care facilities. She will be providing the support and training needed for our volunteers and ensuring they are ready to go out into the field and investigate abuse cases. She looks forward to being a part of a team that is dedicated to providing a higher quality of life and care for residents as she advocates for their rights. She looks forward to meeting all of the field ombudsman volunteers as she learns about the system and OSSMC’s role and our facilities in the San Mateo County.
Sherine holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont. A Bay Area native, Sherine is passionate about human rights, resident empowerment and social justice education. In her spare time, Sherine practices yoga, plays tennis and enjoys camping outdoors.
