OSSMC is proud to once again join with Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California and Northern Nevada to produce the 17th Annual Updates on Dementia Conference: Translating Research Into Practice on May 13, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Foster City. This unique event examines the latest research in the biological, social and psychological aspects of aging and dementia with particular emphasis on work that will have practical applications to clinical practice. This year topics will range from suicide in persons with dementia and their caregivers to cultural diversity and what health care providers need to be aware of. Our Executive Director, Tippy Irwin, will present an afternoon session entitled The Ombudsman Perspective: Working through difficult cases where she will share how Field Ombudsman view challenging behaviors and how practitioners can work more closely with LTC ombudsmen.
It promises to be a day of knowledge and resource sharing not to be missed. To register visit
