With the holidays coming to a conclusion in a couple of days, and as we welcome a new year, there are a few things I will miss about the holidays. Whether it is the decorated stores, homes illuminated with dozens of lights (not to mention high electric bills), holiday music, or just being with family—these are all some of my favorite things.
What will I miss the most? After much deliberation, it is definitely the holiday cookies and desserts! I have a sweet tooth, and can never get enough of those holiday cookies! Not to mention, each cookie is like a blank canvas—you can design it however you want, and it will (almost) always taste good!
Although with all the positive aspects of the holidays, there is a downturn—there is never enough time! Balancing your professional, social, and personal life, while trying to shop for everyone, and spend time with family and friends can be hectic. That’s why, when I am looking for a quick holiday cookie recipe, I turn to the Food Network. With a multitude of options and a variety of recipes, Food Network gives me the freedom to choose anything I like! And, who doesn’t love autonomy?
This recipe (below) – 3 in 1 Sugar Cookies – is one of my all-time favorites. The cookies come out soft and amazing; you can practically eat them without any frosting or decorations, while having to control yourself from eating the entire batch. You can sprinkle them with anything you have in the pantry or use the suggested recipe for frosting, which is delicious. Regardless of the route you choose to take, they are foolproof, and always tasty.
The holiday season is also a reminder to appreciate those around us and recognize how important they are. It is also a time to reaffirm our values and who we are as we come together to celebrate with different backgrounds!
May your holiday season be filled with love and joy and spend it around those you cherish. Let this also stand as a reminder: we can value the important people in our lives everyday!
