Ombudsman Services of San Mateo County is pleased to be a part of the team bringing you The Circle of Care Conference on Saturday, November 8th at the Crown Plaza Hotel. The Alzheimer’s Association of Northern California and Northern Nevada has long been a leader in supporting individual and families who are experiencing dementia and the 2014 Circle of Care conference is no exception.
Sessions will include; Avoiding Financial Fraud, Knowing When to Transition: There is “Life” After Dementia, Responding to Challenging Behaviors and many more. While I am excited about the entire conference I have to admit that I am most eager for the closing session, Music and Dementia. This section will focus on the ground breaking documentary Alive Inside and the Music and Memories program. If you have not heard about Alive Inside check out a clip here.
Not only will we be viewing a clip of Alive Inside, but we will also be joined by Dan Cohen, the innovator behind Music and Memories via Skype. Dan will be answering your questions and sharing how we can be involved in the movement to bring music to those experiencing dementia. OSSMC we will be closing the session by sharing what is going on in the San Mateo County. We will be unveiling an exciting secret so you don’t want to miss it. I will be leading this session and I want to see your face in the audience. You can register for the conference here.
